Tooling Technician - 3rd shift in Greenwood, Mississippi

The Tooling Technician is responsible for providing tooling and parts necessary to meet production standards and schedules. Duties and Responsibilities * Perform work per work instructions * Machine replacement, parts, and tooling per supplied blueprints * Manual machining including mill, lathe, surface grinder * Tooling and fixturing maintenance including removal from equipment and repair to working condition * Complete purchase requisitions * Order supplies as necessary for sharpening equipment. * Operate and setup equipment to maintain specifications and independently adjust for variations * Perform necessary functions to prepare work stations to meet requirements * Perform preventative maintenance per requirements * Use tool room equipment to sharpen various tools, drill bits, and cutters * Welding, brazing and soldering and use of hand power tools to complete tasks * Use tool room equipment to mill, drill, grind, bore, and taps to build, repair or modify tools or fixtures * Adhere to all safety requirements in the work area * Practice 5Ss Knowledge, Skils and Abilities * Understand and follow verbal and written instructions as well as drawings and blueprints * College level math * Use of appropriate inspection equipment * Knowledge of applicable jigs, fixtures, index plates and grinding wheels * Computer profiency * Knowledge of cutting tools Education and Experience Requirements * High school diploma or equivalent * 2 years Machine Shop Technical School or 2 years tool room experience Physical and Weight Lifting Demands The physical and weight lifting demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
