Job Description

The Process Technician will have direct involvement with start-up, shut down, and troubleshooting of the stamping and milling processes as well as related automation equipment. The Process Technician will perform basic programming of robotic, CNC and all manufacturing equipment and make any necessary adjustments to ensure Production is operating efficiently. The Technician is responsible for new tooling samples and to provide full documentation on all processing parameters.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists with setting up stamping and milling machines and all related auxiliary equipment to allow the manufacture of product that meets or exceeds the established quality levels
  • Set-up, adjust, troubleshoot, and maintain all production equipment
  • Training of personnel as needed
  • Identify and report potential risks (safety or production) to ensure proper operation and minimal interruptions to scheduling
  • Organizing and maintaining the order and cleanliness of equipment, storage areas and the Machine Shop as a whole
  • Provides technical training assistance to shift operators and Set-up Technicians in regards to methods and techniques for troubleshooting process and processing issues, including identification, diagnosis, and resolution of such issues
  • Monitor and/or correct product efficiencies with minimal scrap and proper cycle times
  • Performs and maintains process and post production documentation as required
  • Performs routine quality checks on parts during production, through usage of measuring instruments provided
  • Reads and understands quality standards, control plans, and all pertinent documentation required in producing a quality part to specification
  • Able to assist and support corrective action, cross-functional quality, downtime and scrap
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and work in a self-directed manner to implement projects and optimize production processes



Education and Experience


  • Possess expert level experience in troubleshooting tooling
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 5+ years of experience in Stamping and / or CNC operations required
  • Must be proficient in technical set-up of Stamping and / or CNC machines and working knowledge on establishment of robust processes.
  • Ability to interpret part drawings, knowledge of part quality requirements, and computer systems required
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Well-developed and innovative problem-solving skills required
  • PLC programming general knowledge preferred
  • Fork truck certification, overhead crane, LOTO, HazCom
  • CAD experience a strong plus
  • Have the ability to work with minimal direction
  • Proven track record of cost reduction through mechanical process improvements
