Intern - Mechanical Drafter in Brookfield, Wisconsin

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of the engineering team, generate 3D models including, but not limited to:
• Injection molded components
• Die cast components
• Machined Components
• 3D assembly fitments
• Order and assemble rapid prototype models
• Trouble shoot fitment issues and adjust assemblies/components accordingly.
• Interact with multi-disciplinary Engineering department personnel, including Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Industrial Designers and Model shop personnel.
• Present work to project teams and use feedback to make required adjustments
• Build, teardown and troubleshoot prototype tools and components
• Setup and run functional and exploratory test plans per NPD team instruction

Education and Experience Requirements

• Student working towards an associate degree in Mechanical Design or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and surfacing (UG or Solidworks preferred but not required).
• Must have good interpersonal, verbal and written communication.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with basic direction.
• Solid analytical and technical skills required.
• Understanding of GD/T preferred
• Willingness to work with hands
