Job Description

The Safety and Security Manager will develop and manage the safety and security programs for the distribution facilities. These programs will help keep our employees and our product safe and secure. Duties and Responsibilities * Plan and implement OHS policies and programs * Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics * Prepare educational seminars and webinars on a regular basis * Review existing policies and procedures * Adhere to all the rules and regulations * Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety * Conduct risk assessment * Enforce preventative measures * Recruit and hire new safety employees * Train, manage and guide your staff * Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations * Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes * Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees' safety * Develop and implement security policies, protocols and procedures * Control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses * Recruit, train and supervise security officers and guards * Attend meetings with other managers to determine operational needs * Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events * Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms * Review reports on incidents and breaches * Investigate and resolve issues * Create reports for management on security status * Analyze data to form proposals for improvements (e.g. implementation of new technology) Physical Demands * Standing for long periods of time * Frequent bending, stooping, pushing and pulling of tools and boxes * Able to work in various temperature conditions * Operation of motorized and manual pallet jack Education and Experience Requirements * Industrial Health and Safety Degree * 5 -- 10 years of experience in distribution / manufacturing implementing and/or maintaining a safety / security program * Ability to analyze and perform root cause analysis on process / program failures, near misses, accidents, or security breaches.
