Job Description

Title: Quality Technician 1 Job Code: Department: Quality The Quality Technician 1 is responsible for following procedures to ensure part and material conformance per specifications utilizing safety standards as required. Quality Technician 1 will demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision in multiple disciplines listed below in this description. Duties and Responsibilities Metrology 1. Use lab equipment for gage calibration and auditing parts. 2. Conduct heat treat testing per specification. 3. Manage calibration recordkeeping and update records on system. 4. Setup and operate Vision system to measure angles, lengths, radii, and center distances. 5. Take appropriate corrective action for continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction. 6. Know and practice the 5 S's for industrial housekeeping. 7. Operate lab equipment and gages properly and adhere to all safety requirements in the work area. 8. Able to react to change effectively and handle other tasks as assigned.9. Receiving Inspection 1. Inspect all incoming material and parts per quality specification after being received in cell. 2. Maintain receiving files and records per requirements. 3. Place kanban cards on inspected material. 4. Create and complete NCR's, SCAR's, and CAR's and enter information into computer. 5. Perform workplace audits with documented results. 6. Set up and operate gages to accurately inspect material and parts. 7. Control scrapped or rejected parts until disposition is determined. 8. Perform preventative maintenance as required. 9. Take appropriate corrective action for continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction. 10. Know and practice the 5S's for industrial housekeeping. 11. Operate tools, and equipment properly and adhere to all safety requirements in the work area. 12. Able to react to change effectively and handle other tasks as assigned. 13. Heat Treat 1. Preparation of test samples through a process of polishing and chemical activation of sample surface. 2. Set up and operation of gages to accurately inspect material hardness and micro-hardness. 3. Creation of test samples through the use of specialized cutting equipment. 4. Maintain files and records per requirements. 5. Take appropriate corrective action for continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction. 6. Know and practice the 5S's for industrial housekeeping. 7. Operate tools, presses and equipment properly and adhere to all safety requirements in the work area. 8. Able to react to change effectively and handle other tasks as assigned. Auditing 1. Conduct recon tools, accessories packaging, and accessories manufacturing audits daily utilizing print and process control plan specifications. 2. Disassemble and analyze product during the performance of a teardown audit. 3. Perform Process Control Plan audits when required. 4. Investigate and use SPC tools for problem solving failures and rejects. 5. Maintain and complete proper records and documentation. 6. Take appropriate corrective action for continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction including NCR, SCAR, and CAR databases for non-conforming product. 7. Use gauges and other equipment to measure tolerances and dimensions of parts per specifications. 8. Know and practice the 5S's for industrial housekeeping. 9. Operate tools, and equipment properly and adhere to all safety requirements in the work area. 10. Able to react to change effectively and handle other tasks as assigned. Battery Warranty Analysis 1. Conduct warranty analysis on batteries returned from Authorized Service Centers and Authorized Distributors per the Battery Return Policies currently in place. 2. Maintain and complete proper records and documentation. 3. Prepare batteries for recycling once they have been evaluated. 4. Know and practice the 5S's for industrial housekeeping. 5. Able to react to change effectively and handle other tasks as assigned. Education/ * Requires an education equivalent to high school diploma or GED. * Technical certification is preferred Experience
