Milwaukee Tool is growing! In order to support the growth of all locations, we need to hire a Payroll Supervisor that will oversee a team of Payroll Specialists. In this role you will be responsible for delivering necessary execution of the US payroll operations and the time keeping solution.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the day-to-day payroll activities, monitoring for continuous improvement of practices to remove inefficiencies
  • Work collaboratively with function leads to maintain an open communication environment
  • Lead successful delivery of routine and non-routine payroll activities
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures surrounding payroll operations and time keeping solutions
  • Interpret, understand and apply payroll statutes, laws and regulations, while proactively remaining current on all payroll/payroll tax regulation changes and updates
  • Design and maintain effective internal controls for the payroll function
  • Maintain accurate reporting on the GL
  • Troubleshoot issues with payroll file feeds to external partnerships
  • Maintain knowledge of HRIS and timekeeping tool
  • Research and prepare responses to audit requests
  • Drive setup for new companies, departments, etc within HRIS to guarantee no disruption to business operations
  • Champion a data integrity mindset, continuously monitoring data for errors or inconsistencies and resolving quickly
  • Advise team members on payroll issues, resolving conflict and expressing a One Team outlook
  • Process payroll as needed
  • Generate, maintain and run ad-hoc reports for payroll analysis and understanding
  • Organize, complete and present payroll and timekeeping projects as assigned by leadership

 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, or related field; OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of office experience, 3 year payroll experience preferred
  • 1 year supervisory experience preferred
  • Mathematical aptitude and the ability to analyze and present data
  • Has the ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise good judgment and diplomacy
  • Must have strong business acumen and customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications necessary
