Job Description

The Associate Training Program Manager -- Instructional Design will report to Manager, Digital Programs. In this role, you will be responsible for the creation of digital technology learning experiences and courses focused on workplace knowledge and skills. Through planning, analysis, design, collaboration, implementation and management, the Instructional Designer will deliver learnings via classroom, virtual classroom, online, mobile applications, and blended technology mediums.

*This position requires extensive use of technology-based training tools. The interview process will require examples of specific experience with engaging, technology based interactive content design across multiple delivery formats, eg. classroom, virtual classroom, online, mobile apps and blended environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work collectively across the organization with program managers, media developers and stakeholders to create training programs, classes, courses, curricula and certification programs from concept to implementation
  • Engage the full instructional design and development cycle to design and develop instructional materials and supporting products for classroom, virtual classroom, technology-based training, and blended delivery formats
  • Evaluate product/service technology support requirements and assess content requirements considering the capabilities/needs to determine delivery feasibility
  • Establish instructional design and development standards for all existing and future training materials that support continued quality, speed of delivery, and learning reinforcement
  • Perform quality assurance reviews and survey assessments of newly created or updated courses to ensure accuracy, functionality and knowledge transfer
  • Present and make recommendations regarding course design, technology, and instruction delivery options
  • Provide analytical support for the design and development of training curricula, learning strategies, educational policies, or courseware standards
  • Conduct needs assessments and strategic learning assessments to develop the basis for content development or to update curricula; Interview subject matter experts and conduct other research to develop instructional content
  • Develop instruction or training roadmaps for classroom, virtual classroom, online or app-based delivery, and blended learning programs
  • Adapt instructional content or delivery methods for different levels and learning styles
  • Research and evaluate emerging instructional technologies or methods
  • Provide oral and written status reports, presentations and or meetings to update stakeholders on project status and expectations
  • Revise and update current training materials according to system and design changes
  • Perform at a high level and remain organized under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Set and prioritize goals to achieve them as scheduled, while adjusting to rapidly changing requirements and schedules when necessary


Education and Experience Requirements

  • A bachelors degree in instructional design, curriculum, educational technology, or a related degree
  • Minimum of three years experience in instructional design
  • Experience collaborating with teams, SME's and stakeholders to manage expectations deliverables
  • Experience in virtual classroom platforms (Adobe Connect and MS Teams), learning management systems and building content in authoring software with extensive experience in Articulate Storyline and Rise 360, at minimum


Preferred Skills and Knowledge


  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, active learning design, facilitation, and learner-centered activities
  • Ability to provide instructional design consulting services to subject matter experts and stakeholders
  • Ability to be creative, flexible, and innovative in course design
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, superior organizational skills, stakeholder management skills, self-direction, and motivation
  • Willingness to travel on occasion
