The Senior Project Leader will be responsible for providing project management, leadership, and technical direction for a variety of complex electronics platform development projects. You will oversee day-today activities of cross-functional project team members to ensure all groups are working toward the goal of successful and timely project completion. 

 

You’ll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities: 

The Senior Project Leader is responsible for managing multiple moderate to highly complex electronics platform projects with minimal direction. Individuals in this position will provide project management and necessary technical direction to assure successful and timely implementation of projects. 

  • Provide leadership over moderate to highly complex design projects. Provide direction, guidance, and engineering expertise to team members. Review work of designers, engineers, and other project team members. 

  • Consistently visualize the entire scope of a project with very little guidance. 

  • Drive and track the completion of assigned projects to meet budget and schedule targets. 

  • Communicate with stakeholders at all levels to ensure teams are effectively collaborating and progressing toward timely completion of project goals 

  • Communicate technical details, ideas, and concepts to engineers and non-engineers in multiple roles and locations. 

  • Drive teams to produce platform designs that fulfill cost, timing, reliability, and high-volume manufacturing requirements. 

  • Lead rapid analysis, evaluation, and selection of design and project planning alternatives. 

  • Identify project risks and implement risk reduction plans. 

  • Manage and document project meetings. 

  • Engage manufacturing plants and outside suppliers as needed to achieve project goals. 

  • Exhibit vision and foresight to test the extremes of a design and guide the team members through well thought out, logical test regimes. 

  • Conduct design and safety reviews as needed to gain necessary approvals for platform development phase progressions. 

  • Manage project compliance with procedures from electronics platform development and non-engineering departments. 

  • Make regular presentations of project status to Senior and Executive leadership. 

  • May have formal supervisory responsibilities and oversees day-to-day activities of project team members. 

  • Recommend changes to existing standards and procedures as needed. 

  • Maintain an awareness of competitive offerings and the general business climate in the power tool industry. 

 

?What TOOLS you’ll bring with you: 

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.  

  • Minimum 10 years engineering experience in related field. 

  • Experience successfully managing moderate to high complexity projects to develop new products, electronic components, or electronic systems.  

  • Embedded system project experience is preferred. 

  • Must possess a high level of Electrical and/or Firmware engineering aptitude.

  • Must have a working design knowledge of a wide variety of the technologies associated with Milwaukee products 

  • Ability to draft comprehensive test plans and specifications. 

  • Proficient in the use of project management and requirements management software. 

 

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have: 

  • Masters degree in Project Management, Systems Engineering, or related fields 

  • Formal project management training. 

  • Experience leading projects to develop electrical or electronic devices, systems, or components.
