Reporting to lab leadership, the Engineering Technician will support NPD engineering teams through test development, data analysis and competitor benchmarking. You will prepare products and prototypes for testing, determine the proper test setups, log measurements for data collection/ graphing, and complete the test per the established schedule.

You'll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Assemble and prepare small quantities of prototype power tool products for testing and evaluation based on procedures and specifications.

  • Determine required materials to perform test method.

  • Operate various types of electrical test equipment used to gather data including data loggers, environmental chambers, digital meters, and various calibrated lab instruments.

  • · Continuously review and interpret tool/sensor data to ensure accuracy of testing.

  • · Prepare reports utilizing computers with word processing, database, spreadsheet, and statistical/graphical software.

  • · Provide updates to engineering team on test status and completion.

  • · Maintain assigned lab requests and timelines to reflect status accurately.

  • · Prepare test reports to reflect work completed and make recommendations to NPD teams.

  • · Perform shift supervisory duties in support of Lab Leads when required.

  • · Contribute to the cleanliness, effectiveness, and overall function of the lab.

What TOOLS you'll bring with you:

  • Safety first mentality.

  • Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of test concepts in the design and development of products and components.

  • Experience with test equipment, test procedures and methods, mechanical/electrical principles.

  • Familiarity with Lab View.

  • One year of data acquisition experience.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft products.

  • Willingness to learn new skills.

  • Strong work ethic.

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:

  • Familiarity with power tools and the construction trades.

  • Willing and able to run most power tools, including industrial models.

  • Capable of lifting and manipulating 30lbs.

  • Forklift experience
